PHIT GLOBAL DIRECTORY · PUBLIC INFORMATION PROJECT PORTAL
The Public Health IT (PHIT) Global Directory maps digital health infrastructure around the world. We collect, verify, and analyze the technology systems that public health agencies use to do their work.
WHY IT MATTERS
Public health systems often work in isolation from each other. We use open records laws and direct outreach to health agencies to build a single, trustworthy database of health technology tools.
We've found that solutions to difficult public health challenges usually exist somewhere already. Making that information visible and accessible is how we help agencies learn from each other.
METHODOLOGY
We update our directory on a monthly cycle, organizing information by health function (like immunization systems or disease surveillance). Every entry falls into one of two categories:
01
These come from our research team. We gather them from public procurement records, open data sources, and official disclosures.
02
These have been reviewed and confirmed by the health agencies themselves. Public agencies can submit corrections or updates to their information anytime, not just during their scheduled monthly review.
THE TEAM
PHIT was built by public health professionals who understand how these systems actually work in the field. Nancy Ejuma leads our research and data work as Founder and Editor-in-Chief. Over nearly twenty years, she has managed public health operations at state and local levels.
Her experience running data-heavy public health IT systems means we understand the compliance, accuracy, and operational context that agency data requires.
